My Grown Up Christmas List

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
Everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end…

This is “My Grown Up Christmas List”

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs.  I love how passionate and caring the song is towards the suffering of this world, and I believe we all should wish and pray for these things not just at Christmas time, but at all times throughout the year.

I think it’s important for us to remember, however, that though it’s good to hope, work, and pray for these things, completely achieving them at a 100% rate is an impossible task for us to realize in this life.  This world has been corrupted by sin and will never reach this “perfect state” we all long for.

This begs the question, why do we ALL (not just Christians) wish for this “perfect life”?  Shouldn’t we all just be happy to be alive in this world and accept the fact it isn’t perfect?

The Bible gives us a reason to why we can’t accept imperfection in this life–because God created us to be perfect!  Thus, accepting anything less than perfection (suffering, pain, injustice) is something none of us can be completely okay with.  We were made to be perfect, but due to our sin, we have corrupted ourselves and have consequently corrupted the world to be less than what God made it to be.

Don’t be discouraged however!  For God promises a place…

Where no lives are torn apart
Where wars never start
Where God heals our hearts
And where everyone has a friend
Where right always wins
And where love never ends…

This is God’s promise to our Christmas wish…

Do you know of it?

Caught you on tv this morning. I like your site. I am in the Kansas City area (Desoto) and, like you, I have a similar site http://www.devotionalshorts.com. Please feel free to check it out. Congrats on your book as I will try to pick it up. I also have a book coming out, which is estimated to be published by Valentines Day with Tate Publishing. This is a great way to reach to people about our Lord…keep up the good work.
