Growing up, I hated country music. I thought it was nothing but “hick noise” and felt if you listed to it you either had to be a hardcore redneck or just extremely lame…
Then one day in high school, my brother Daniel finally showed me the light! He introduced me to some songs by Alan Jackson, Big & Rich, and others, and showed me that country is actually pretty cool! I’ve been hooked on it ever since, and I’m proud to say I haven’t yet had any hay-straws sticking out of my mouth or driven to work on any tractors! (except for that one time…)
Last night was the annual Academy of Country Music Awards, and after watching, I couldn’t resist coming up with my very own “Country Music Awards” to share. Below are the winners! If you haven’t ever given country a chance, I challenge you to listen to a couple of songs and see the light (similarly to how I saw the light back in high school)! If you still don’t like country, then I honestly don’t know how to help you. I suggest seeing some sort of therapist or something because you’re missing out! Enjoy…
